BIRCHBOX: November 2011

Hello~! I feel like I haven't blogged in a long while...I've been pretty busy with school.  It seems like all the tests and projects are piled on top of each other to get done before the Thanksgiving break.  I'm done with major exams for now, and I just turned in 2 projects today.  But I've still got 2 projects to work on that's due after Thanksgiving, and a quiz to study for too.  Busy, busy, busy!  I'm excited for winter break to come already!

Anyway, I got my Birchbox last week.  It was pretty weighty, so I was expecting great things!  There were quite a few goodies in this box, and I'm happy with what I got:

l-r, front to back: LaROCCA Skincare Body Polish, Zoya Nail Polish, Chuao Chocolatier Chocolate,
Klorane Eye Makeup Remover, Bauble Bar Bracelet & Oscar Blandi Hair Mist

More pictures and info under the cut~
NOTE: decided to break down the pricing this time, just for fun. not sure if it's 100% right, though. xD if you see this symbol: ~ it means approximately.

Klorane | Soothing Eye Makeup Remover with Cornflower
Infused with French cornflower extracts, this formula is designed for even the most sensitive eyes.

Full Size: 3.4 fl. oz/25 ml | $9
Sample Size: 0.8 fl. oz | ~$2.12

Thoughts: First thought was that this is a pretty big sample size. It's almost a quarter of the full size! After reading the description, I'm excited to try this! I've been using the Target version of Neutrogena's makeup remover. That works well, but lately, my eyes have been kind of sensitive. It'll be good to use a remover for sensitive eyes and see if that makes a difference...
LaROCCA Skincare | Champagne & Shimmer Acai Body Polish
Call us indulgent, but we love this glam scrub, featuring 2K colloidal gold. (if you're like me, and don't know what colloidal is, it basically means it's evenly dispersed throughout the gel of the scrub. thanks google! :P)

Full Size: 6.76 oz | $35
Sample Size: 0.05 oz | ~$0.26

Thoughts: I'm a little confused by the name of this product, with the Champagne & Shimmer part. Does it have Champagne in it? Or is that just to make it sound more glam? Anyway, I tried this on one of my hands and it made it feel quite soft after. I'm not sure how Acai smells, but this scrub has a floral scent to me, with a hint of citrus.
Oscar Blandi | Jasmine Protein Mist
Celeb stylist Oscar Blandi's secret weapon: this leave-in spray protects, fortifies, and revives damp or dry strands.

Full Size: 250 ml | $18
Sample Size: 2 fl. oz/60 ml | ~$4.32

Thoughts: Don't really have any thoughts on this other than I think this might be good for those days when you don't wash your hair, to help revive it. Gonna give it a try and see how I like it...
Zoya | Nail Polish in Noel
This shimmery denim shade from Zoya's holiday 2011 collection fits just right -- just like your favorite blue jeans.

Full Size: 0.5 fl. oz | $8
Sample Size: 0.25 fl. oz | $4

Thoughts: Another "big" sample! It looks small, but this sample is half of the full size. Anyway, I'm always glad to get a Zoya nail polish sample in my Birchbox. I think these tiny bottles are just so cute! And I love the color I got! Can't wait to wear it. :)
Chuao Chocolatier | Firecracker Chocopod
Spicy and sweet, these artisanal dark chocolate treats are laced with chipotle and popping candy.

Full Size: 2.8 oz | $6
Sample Size: 0.39 oz | ~$0.84

Thoughts: This was an extra in my box this month, and is now long gone! I ate it the day I got my Birchbox. It was a little salty, a little spicy, a little sweet, and a lot good! That's not gramatically correct, but who care? lol! It was really good! And the popping candy in it added a twist.

BaubleBar | Black Wood Pop
Thank you for referring friends, giving feedback, or buying products in our shop. Your reward: some in-box bling (a sweet BaubleBar bracelet) and, of course, your hard-earned Birchbox Points.

Cost: $20

Thoughts: This is Birchbox's little gift to their loyal subscribers, I guess. :) This already made up for the price of this month's box! I think it's a nice piece to dress up a plain outfit.

Have you tried any of these products before? Thoughts?
